Specific prerequisite information for the courses and the exam is listed below. The Building Security Excellence and Building Safety Excellence courses provide the prerequisite training necessary for qualified individuals to serve on a CMMI Appraisal Team for appraisals including Security and Safety. Following successful completion of both courses, eligible participants will be able to take the CMMI Professional for Security and Safety Exam.

What do I need for these courses?
To take the courses, each student is required to have successfully completed Foundations of Capability (or CMMI V2.0 Upgrade Training) and the Certified CMMI Associate Exam.
The courses are composed of lectures and class exercise with time allotted for participant questions and discussion. The format of the courses requires that students actively participate throughout the duration of the courses without missing any class time.
The Exam
Individuals interested in sitting for the CMMI Professional for Security and Safety Exam are required to complete additional prerequisites, Advancing Organizational Capability: Applying CMMI, and High Maturity Concepts.
The exam can be taken at a testing center or remotely proctored. If you choose remote proctoring, you will be required to download and install a proctoring tool on a desktop computer or laptop. Mobile devices, tablets, and Chromebooks are not supported. Please review the minimum system requirements and run a system compatibility check BEFORE taking the exam.
